Statement

Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.
Whether I'm painting a portrait, a cityscape or a pastoral landscape, I am going after that
elusive quality which makes every person or place instantly recognizable. I want to capture
the spirit a little, so that people who see my work get that instantaneous if fleeting sense of
understanding and recognition.
